The Anthology of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, a breathtaking series of seven 14-CD box sets spanning the institution's history from 1935 to the present, has taught us that this august Dutch ensemble—routinely and rightly cited as one of the world's finest—can be extremely adventurous in its programming. On the road, it sticks to meat-and-potatoes fare; still, hard to argue with Mariss Jansons conducting Bartók's Violin Concerto No. 2 (with Leonidas Kavakos) and Mahler's Symphony No. 1 on Feb 13; Strauss's Death and Transfiguration and Bruckner's Symphony No. 7 follow on Feb 14.
