George Mathew conducts an ensemble comprising members of the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the MET Orchestra, the Buffalo Philharmonic, the Orchestra of St. Luke's and other top institutions, in Shostakovich's rousing Symphony No. 7 ("Leningrad"), with proceeds benefitting Doctors Without Borders' programs in Syria. Also on the program is Kinan Azmeh, a brilliant and versatile Syrian clarinetist, composer and bandleader.
