Percussionist, conductor and musical philosopher Steven Schick has played a vital role in a number of major Miller Theatre presentations over the last few seasons, so it stands to reason that he's the subject of the Miller's first-ever performer-portrait offering. He'll present two nights of unaccompanied works: foundational music by Stockhausen, Feldman, Xenakis, Lucier and others on Jan 30, and commissioned pieces by David Lang, Kaija Saariaho, Nathan Davis, John Luther Adams, Lei Liang and more on Feb 1. The all-access pass also provides entrance to the panel discussion on Jan 31 at 3pm, featuring percussionists from a variety of genres and styles.
