Issue Project Room may currently be under renovation, but you didn't think that would stop it from celebrating the 75th birthday of the legendary minimalist violinist-composer Tony Conrad, did you? The two-night bash starts tonight in Brooklyn Heights, with the drone-virtuoso in a duo setting with Charlemagne Palestine, whose "strumming piano" technique still wows, four decades after he first invented it. (It's also the cheaper of the two nights.) The gig on Mar 7 presents Conrad again, as well as Jennifer Walshe, MV Carbon and others. That event doubles as a benefit for Issue and comes complete with special dinner. (It is also priced accordingly, though there is a $45 level, too.)
