Ultima Festival New York 2014

One of Norway's foremost avant-garde festivals continues its NYC invasion, as Danish sound artist Jacob Kirkegaard presents works by electronic-music pioneer Else Marie Pade on Apr 24, on a bill shared with piano-percussion quartet Yarn/Wire. Ne(x)tworks holds forth on Apr 25 with a program that includes Henning Christiansen’s Requiem of Art (NYC) Fluxorum Organum. The festival ends with two programs on Apr 26: a 3pm matinee pairing pianist-composers Lubomyr Melnyk and Antti Tolvi, and a closing tribute to revered composer Arne Nordheim featuring alt-rock combo Serena-Maneesh & Vocal Ensemble and accordionist Frode Haltli.
