DJ Shadow & Cut Chemist's Renegades of Rhythm Tour

  • Price band: 2/4

DJ Shadow became an instant headphone hero in 1996 with his debut album, Endtroducing…, a stone-cold hip-hop classic that set off a decade swamped with imitative efforts by less distinctive sample-slayers. This tour finds him joining forces with another hip-hop notable, esteemed spinner and producer Cut Chemist—an erstwhile member of Jurassic 5 and Ozomatli—to pay homage to one of the greats: Afrika Bambaataa.

Blackflag Label Night: Stacey Pullen + Sergio Fernandez + Youcef Elaid + Octave One (live) + Kate Simko

  • Price band: 2/4
  • Critics choice

Verboten has been going from strength to strength, and tonight's hoedown does nothing to break that trend: The talented artists of Stacey Pullen's Blackflag Recordings assume control of the decks, with Pullen himself headlining. The man has never gotten as much recognition as his fellow second-wave Detroit techno artists (Carl Craig, Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin et al.), but he's a hell of a producer and a DJ who can pack a dance floor with ease.

  1. Verboten 54 North 11th St, between Kent and Wythe Aves, 11211
  2. Fri Sep 5

  2. Sat Sep 6
