The weather gods were smiling on Warm Up 2012’s opening day on Saturday, July 7; instead of the predicted 100 degrees with tropical-rain-forest humidity and severe thunderstorms, it was only 97 degrees with temperate-rain-forest humidity, without a monsoon in sight. Take that, meteorological doom mongers! But then again, even if the worst had passed, we suspect MoMA PS1’s courtyard would have been packed for Todd Terry, Light Asylum, Nguzunguzu, Trust and Arca (featuring HBA on the mike). And why not? Even after 15 years—and even during this party-packed summer—Warm Up is still one of the best things going during Gotham's dog days.
