"I've been a fan of these DJs since I was 17 or 18, still living back in Houston, Texas. I had to come tonight to represent old-school house. I know DJs sometimes change it up a bit to please the crowd, but I'm happy they're keeping it close to the old-school Chicago style. People in New York come to these things in high heels, and it takes away from what it should be about: the music. Why would you come to a house party in heels? You need to be able to dance."

"I came for Derrick Carter. I like his tracks, and with the sound system here, you can really feel the bass. The clubs in the U.K. are like this. There's this one place over there called Fabric with the nicest audio system, and there aren't any clubs other than here that can compare."

"This place reminds me a lot of Sound Factory. I like how they tapped into the urban scene with the graffiti in the bathroom. Places like this are really trying to bring it back to how it was at places like Sound Factory, Twilo and Tunnel. It's so similar, except there's way more security now."

"We came here tonight because a friend recommended it. We've been here a few times; I know the person who redesigned [the club]."

"I met Mark Farina a decade ago, and when we found out he was here tonight, we had to come down from Albany."

JP, 32; urban planner; Albany, NY
"Him combined with the sound system here is great. They've got it so you still have all the clarity, but you still feel the bass."

Sheila, 26, interior designer, Upper East Side
"I love Derrick Carter and Mark Farina, and I love that they're playing this club. It's really spacious; it's a different kind of club. I stopped going to the Sullivan Room a while ago because every time I went I'd have a bad night. It didn't used to be that way, but it's different now. It's like the space and the scene outgrew themselves."

"[I'm] just looking to dance, wild out a little bit."

"I'm visiting New York, but I had to come out for Mark Farina. He's different. I love how he mixes house and hip-hop beats. It's a good vibe here compared to L.A. The hip-hop crowd is different; it's all about status, but the crowd that comes out for this type of music is always very chill."
