"There's no judgement here, you're free to express yourself and express your sexuality. The vibe is very classy and fierce and full of elegance. Or as I like to say---eleganza!"

"Susanne's parties have always brought out the most interesting, well-dressed people. They're all walking to their own beat, and she's inspiring them. She's basically keeping the spirit of New York City alive. There's a great mix here: I've seen guys with their boyfriends, guys with their girlfriends, everyone from models to skater boys."

"You can definitely experiment here. I like that it's a party everyone wants to be at."

"Everyone's ready for a little summer glory, and I think this party kills it---there is no other space like this in the city. And you don't have to worry about other places to go because even if it's an off night, you're still on this great roof. People are dressed up, people are in costume; it's like a better Halloween with amazing weather."

Le Bain, the Standard Hotel's 18th-floor and rooftop club, complete with minipool and crpe bar, is the chosen venue for party-thrower-supreme Susanne Bartsch's brand-new Tuesday-night fete, On Top. It's a decadent dance party for creatives and a celebration of diversity, with revelers lapping up the warm weather and killer views on the roof, or dipping their toes into the water and losing themselves in synthesized beats in the lounge. Droves of partygoers, extravagantly outfitted (colander-as-mask was one inspired choice), pour in throughout the night. "This probably won't peak until around 2:45am," says a baby-faced veteran of Bartsch's parties. And staying late has major perks: Who'd want to miss a glimpse of the clubbing icon dancing on top of the bar? Le Bain, 444 W 13th St at Washingon St (212-645-4646, standardhotels.com). Tue 10pm--4am; free.
