The talented creator of disco-tinged rhythms Moon Boots joins his French Express pals at Output.

Moon Boots may be the name of a particularly ugly (but undoubtedly functional) style of footwear—but it’s also the chosen musical moniker of a talented maker of R&B– and disco-tinged house beats, the Chicago DJ-producer known to his pals as Pete Dougherty. He’s released sparkling and fun tracks through the indispensible website The House of Disco, but much of his work is done for the fab Texas label French Express. And aren’t we New Yorkers lucky: The weekly Input party is hosting a French Express takeover at Output on Thursday, July 11, when he’ll be spinning alongside labelmates Jonas Rathsman and Perseus—and to mark the occasion, Mr. Boots has provided us with this nifty, hot-off-the-presses mix. It’s a bit more heavy on the deep and classic house than what you might expect—but still, the man’s sunny-disco proclivities shine through.
Input: French Express Label Night with Moon Boots + Jonas Rathsman + Perseus is at Output Thursday, July 11.
