Time Out says
Soul vocalist Gwen McCrae's career took off in 1969 thanks to "Three Hearts in a Tangle," a duet with husband George McCrae. She went on to become one of the seminal dance-music voices of the ’70s and ’80s via clubland hits like "Rockin’ Chair" and "Funky Sensation." The beloved singer suffered a massive stroke while touring in England this past June, and though she is slowly recovering, she remains paralyzed on her left side and will need years of further treatment. This benefit party features a massive lineup of DJs, including David Morales, Don Welch, Grandmaster Flash, Jellybean Benitez, Joey Llanos, Kenny Dope, Louie Vega, Ralph McDaniels, Tony Humphries, Tony Touch and many, many others; Colonel Abrams serves as the evening's host.
