The Bunker shows its attention to quality control—and ventures a bit outside of its usual underground-techno playlist—with what looks to be a pretty mind-blowing night. The music of England’s Demdike Stare can be biliously brooding and darkly droning—but Miles Whittaker and Sean Canty’s meticulously paced, beautifully produced sound is ultimately uplifting, not to mention hauntingly powerful. (The duo will be playing live, with both members laying down DJ sets as well.) The Modern Love label's Andy Stott also performs live, supplying a set of groaning almost-techno rhythms. The front room's headliner is the phenomenal Peter Van Hoesen; he works within a more traditional electronic-dance-music template, which is not to say that his sets can’t be pretty damn twisted as well. Bunker resident Eric Cloutier completes the lineup.
