The Freedom Party, the city's longest-running weekly Friday-night dance party, salutes iconic hip-hop collective Native Tongues (the Jungle Brothers, De La Soul, a Tribe Called Quest, etc.). Brand Nubian's Grand Puba performs a set (with friends, so expect a ’90s-hip-hop-star–studded affair), Chicago outift Sidewalk Chalk plays covers of Native Tongues material in the basement, and DJ Todd Jones provides a video tribute.
