Walker & Royce at Marquee

If you had told us a year ago that the one-time bottle-service headquarters Marquee would someday have a strong run of underground house DJs manning its decks on Fridays, we wouldn’t have believed it. But lo and behold, it does—largely due to the efforts of local stalwarts Sleepy & Boo, who have been booking Fridays since early 2013. The likes of Crosstown Rebels’ Damian Lazarus, Dirtybird’s Claude VonStroke, Chicago jackmaster Green Velvet and the Kompakt label’s Blond:ish duo have all set up shop in the booth; on Friday, July 12, the Nurvous label’s Walker & Royce, along with Montreal’s Julian Prince and birthday boy Xander Phoenix, ran the show, and TONY was there to catch the action.

Marquee: Sleepy & Boo and Friends is Friday, July 26.
