New York’s oldest comedy club is a bit of a time warp. The decor and gentility are throwbacks to the era of its namesake, Rodney, who founded it as a cabaret in 1969. Instead of putting eight to ten comics in a showcase, Dangerfield’s gives three or four stand-ups the chance to settle into longer acts. Ya gotta respect that.
