Naked boys invade the OUT NYC
The cast of the Off Broadway skinfest strikes a pose in the newly opened gay hotel
Tue Mar 13 2012
After much fanfare, some delay and a bit of snarky online prejudgment, the OUT NYC Hotel is finally hosting guests in the far west reaches of 42nd Street. To mark the official debut of the city's first openly gay (but straight-friendly!) megahotel, we turned the cast of the reopened Naked Boys Singing loose in the labyrinthine complex—and asked them what it's like to sing onstage in the buff. Coats of paint and other finishing touches were still being applied when we visited, but the boys nonetheless found places to frolic, including the faux-grassy "Great Lawn" courtyard (one of three outdoor spaces contained in the hotel), a compact-yet-comfy guest room and the XL Nightclub, Cabaret & Lounge, which opened in February and is home to the popular weekly parties Rockit, XL Saturdays and Hot Mess. Considering a gaycation? Rooms at the OUT start at around $260 a night, but if you book soon, you can score a $150 "Coming Out Special" rate! Check out the OUT NYC Hotel's website for more information.
