Long Island City finally saw some fine action this year. Leading the charge was Sasha Petraske, who brought this sultry speakeasy to a barren stretch of Jackson Avenue. You have plenty of reasons to love this place: the lively, hot-jazz atmosphere, the dead-serious cocktails—gorgeous, layered rum swizzles; silky stirred Manhattans—and a pianist banging the keys in a dusty back room.
