What remains of the riverside Brooklyn neighborhood of Vinegar Hill has been put on the map anew, thanks to the homespun charm of this recent tenant. In a refreshing twist, chef and co-owner Jean Adamson, previously of Freemans, has made the hearth, not the hype, this destination's focus. The oft-changing menu has brought forth an earthy butternut squash tart, silky chicken liver pt and other staples that keep a line of locals and visitors reliably snaking out the door.
