Doughboy Bake Shop
The Chocolate Bar's Alison Nelson and Noelle Ridings will open this American-style bakery, showcasing pies, cookies and cakes. 535 Hudson St between Charles and Perry Sts (no phone yet). Early October.

Georgetown Cupcake
The starring bakery of TLC reality show DC Cupcakes gives its frosted sweets, made with primo ingredients like Valrhona chocolate and Madagascar bourbon vanilla, a local debut in Soho. 111 Mercer St between Prince and Spring Sts (no phone yet). Late November.

La Churrera
The team behind Soccarat Paella Bar takes on another iconic Spanish food—the fried, sugar-dusted sticks known as churros—at this pastry and sandwich shop. 284 Mulberry St between E Houston and Prince Sts (212-219-0101). Early October.

Landbrot
This German "bakery bar" will open two locations—one in the West Village and the other on the Lower East Side—to showcase its old-world breads, pastries and pretzels alongside Teutonic beers (Hopf, Reutberger, Schonramer). 137 Seventh Ave South between Charles and W 10th Sts (212-255-7300) * 185 Orchard St between E Houston and Stanton Sts (212-260-2900). Maison Ladure
Paris's haute house of macarons brings its delicate pastries stateside with this charming Upper East Side shop. You'll find all the signature flavors, such as caramel, framboise and praline, plus New York--exclusive cinnamon-raisin. The precious decor—including antique upholstered chairs, bronze sconces and vintage-style wallpaper—pays tribute to the original, 149-year-old patisserie. 864 Madison Ave between 70th and 71th Sts (646-558-3157). Stella's Sweet Shoppe
The cupcake's stranglehold on the local pastry scene shows no signs of loosening. This Miami bakery will bring its miniature versions to the already-crowded field with this Upper East Side storefront. 1691 Third Ave between 94th and 95th Sts (212-828-2855). Mid-September.
