Robert Overby, "Paintings from the '80s"
Time Out says
Overby, who died in 1993, was a Los Angeles artist who segued from creating stretchable cast-latex replicas of doors and even entire apartment walls (well before Rachel Whiteread did something similar) to limning post-Pop paintings that combined figurative and abstract elements. The latter are given a two-gallery revival here and at Andrew Kreps Gallery.
