Great Space, Poor Staff & Execution *This is a review of their wedding/private event services* I should start by saying, I could not have been more pleased with the space itself. It has great character and energy. It was the perfect place for my wedding! I wish I was as ecstatic about the staff and their execution as I was the venue, though. Unfortunately, they are either incapable or unwilling to pay close attention to details and make sure events are executed as planned and agreed upon. There were things that were promised to us in our contract and reconfirmed verbally that did not happen on the day of. For example: -Our event manager (Adam) guaranteed that he would be able to call enough cars for all of our guests at the end of the evening. This did not happen. There were multiple people who were left stranded (all of whom were from out of town) without rides to their hotels. This is absolutely unacceptable on all levels considering it's nearly impossible to get a cab in DUMBO. Furthermore, be warned that they don't call NYC taxis, instead they use a car service, which is both more expensive and doesn't take credit cards. -There was only 1 bar open as opposed to 2 bars, which was listed in our contract and promised to us by both Todd (the bar manager) and Adam. It took me -- the bride -- over 10 minutes to get a drink. - At Kris's (the technical director) suggestion/recommendation, I emailed him photographs that were to be displayed (in a rotating pattern) on the screen in the vestibule. This didn't happen. -Adam ensured me that there would be a curtain hung over the coat closet, which there wasn't. Let me tell you... the inside of that thing is not pretty and was visible to all of our guests. -Despite giving Adam instructions multiple times as to when and where to move certain pieces of our decorations, he did it at the completely wrong time. -Staff members were slow to respond to emails/calls leading to significant lapses in communication. I feel as though there was a complete lack of customer service and the staff was simply churning out weddings - too busy to give each couple the deserved respect or priority. The staff did not inspire confidence and trust. I work in events so I understand that no event is perfect and things don't always go according to plan the day of, but because so many things didn't happen as they were supposed to I felt obligated to write a review. Consider yourself warned...
