Queens of the Stone Age
After Josh Homme debuted his surprisingly super supergroup Them Crooked Vultures in 2009, it seemed logical to assume that his signature outfit, Queens of the Stone Age, would fall by the wayside. Thankfully, QOTSA, whose stylishly aerodynamic crunch is one of the sweetest sounds in contemporary rock, returned strong in 2013 with…Like Clockwork, its most mature and cohesive statement to date. Expect favorites new and old at this Westchester date, at the moment the only NYC-area stop on its schedule. Brody Dalle, who you might know as the former shouter for the Distillers—or as Mrs. Josh Homme—opens, supporting her debut solo effort, Diploid Love, which features muscular dance-rock packed with attitude-heavy hooks.
