It seemed too good to be true when the original members of seminal Swedish doom-metal outfit Candlemass reunited in 2003 and issued a strong self-titled CD two years later. As it turns out, it was too good to be true: Vocalist Messiah Marcolin bailed again almost immediately. Still, bassist-composer Leif Edling was always this band’s grim heart and blackened soul, and former Solitude Aeturnus singer Robert Lowe fits in perfectly—no surprise. Daylight Dies, an atmospheric if occasionally drowsy American doom act, draws the opening slot; your VIP ticket gets you in early, and you’ll leave with an autographed poster.
