Time Out New York’s Claude Cahun preview party
On Thursday, May 17, Time Out New York lauded French photographer Claude Cahun with a preview party at the General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church (175 Ninth Ave between 20th and 21st Sts) as part of the first annual High Line Festival. Hand-picked by High Line curator (and rock legend!) David Bowie, the cross-dressing Cahun is known for her riveting photographic self-portraits, displaying diverse identities--both male and female--in scenes ranging from severely simple to elaborately staged.
