Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance
Nicolas Cage pisses fire. That's just one of the many sights that promises to make this comic book sequel (directed by Crank's Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor) a rip-roarin' delight. Did we mention Nicolas Cage pisses fire? (Feb 17)

The Forgiveness of Blood
Joshua Marston makes good on the promise he showed in Maria Full of Grace with this story of modern-day Albanian blood feuds. Like its predecessor, this drama steeps itself in a foreign culture and suggests Marston may be indie cinema's finest immersive journalist. (Feb 24)

John Carter
Edgar Rice Burroughs's classic tale of an earthling battling four-armed martians on the angry red planet finally comes to the big screen as Pixar stalwart Andrew Stanton takes a stab at live-action sci-fi. Friday Night Lights's heartthrob Taylor Kitsch was born to play the interstellar hero. (Feb 24)

Dr. Seuss' The Lorax
Dr. Seuss's mustachioed forest creature is responsible for turning millions of kids into ecowarriors. The animated version casts Danny DeVito to voice our irate hero, with the added benefit of Zac Efron and Taylor Swift for next-gen cred. (Mar 2)

Silent House
Martha Marcy May Marlene's Elizabeth Olsen might be entering the spring of 2012 with a fair amount of Oscar bling; let's see how the rising starlet copes with anchoring a horror film set at a lakeside retreat. (Mar 9)
