Winter in New York City

Casa de mi Padre
A Will Ferrell comedy mostly in Spanish? Muchas gracias—especially since the plot sounds enjoyably close to that of a Western (a family must defend their ranch), plus it's written by Y Tu Mam Tambin costars Gael Garca Bernal and Diego Luna. (Mar 16)

Friends with Kids
Still can't get enough of Kristen Wiig and Jon Hamm even after your umpteenth viewing of Bridesmaids? The pair costar in Jennifer Westfeldt's ensemble comedy about two best friends who enviously watch their peers succumb to baby fever. (Mar 16)

Mirror Mirror
The first of two Snow White films slated for 2012 substitutes goofy for Gothic, with superstylish director Tarsem Singh (Immortals) turning the fairest of them all into a rom-com heroine and giving Julia Roberts a license to ham it up as the evil queen. (Mar 16)

21 Jump Street
The cult '80s TV show about baby-faced undercover cops gets a buddy-comedy makeover with hot-body Channing Tatum and quip-ready Jonah Hill. Fun times, but it better have a Johnny Depp cameo or we'll riot. (Mar 16)

The Hunger Games
Forget the Twilight finale; this first entry in Suzanne Collins's series about teens participating in dystopic-future survival competitions promises to be the year's big young-adult franchise movie. Expect to see posters of star Jennifer Lawrence gracing tween bedrooms from now till doomsday. (Mar 23)
