1. Film Forum
Skip the Starbucks run: You can get your caffeine-and-sweets fix at the movies for cheaper, with espressos, cappuccinos and a selection of brownies, cookies, tea bread, pound cake and orange-chocolate buns from Boerum Hill bakery Cheryl Kleinman Cakes ($2.50 and up). 209 W Houston St between Sixth Ave and Varick St (212-727-8110, filmforum.org)

2. Angelika Film Center and Cafe
No need to sneak decent food into the theater here: At the lobby cafe, you can purchase vegan salads and deli sandwiches ($7.75 each), delivered daily from local vegan eatery Sacred Chow, and get them past the ticket taker without the oversize trench coat. 18 W Houston St at Mercer St (212-995-2000, angelikafilmcenter.com)

3. Cinemart Cinemas
The concession stand is no-frills, but all the classics (popcorn, candy and soda) cost much less than at big chain theaters: A small 85-ounce popcorn, for example, goes for $3 instead of the usual $6. 106-03 Metropolitan Ave at 72nd Rd, Forest Hills, Queens (718-261-2043, cinemartcinemas.com)

4. Landmark’s Sunshine Cinema
The food here is reasonably priced ($11 for a large popcorn-and-soda combo), but the best part is the free popcorn seasonings bar, where you can sprinkle on flavored powders like jalapeo, sour cream and onion, and chocolate marshmallow. Who needs greasy butter? 141-143 E Houston St between First and Second Aves (212-330-8182, landmarktheatres.com)

5. IFC Center
Try a healthy snack with your movie for a change: A mix of dried fruit and nuts goes for $3.75 at the IFC. Or, stick with the fattening but delicious stuff and hit up the cookies, pound cake and brownies from Sacred Chow ($3 and up). 323 Sixth Ave at 3rd St (212-924-7771, ifccenter.com)

6. Regal Battery Park 11
It’s concession-stand heaven at the beginning of the week: Come for a movie on a Monday and you’ll get a box of candy for $1; come on a Tuesday and you’ll get a small popcorn for the same measly price. All you have to do is flash your Regal Crown Club card, which you can sign up for (free!) on Regal’s website. 102 North End Ave at Vesey St (212-945-3418, regmovies.com)
