Spielberg’s dinosaur epic is a work of clockwork precision, the last of his “perfect” movies (along with the same year’s Schindler’s List) before a move into more idiosyncratic and personal territory. It’s endlessly quotable (“That is one big pile of shit”) and tons of fun—though it feels fairly slight given the films that followed.
