Medicine for Melancholy

An oddly moving indie drama, Jenkins’s debut follows two San Franciscan hipsters after a one-night stand; issues of race, gender and class get hashed out among the steep hills, but the fact that this subtle character drama never devolves into cloying Sundance-lite clichés is a miracle.
