A decade of Shack: Shake Shack debuts new burgers for its tenth anniversary

To celebrate a decade of block-spanning lines and what looks like the start of global domination—the chain has already expanded to the Middle East and Russia—Danny Meyer’s Shake Shack is hosting a weeklong bash at its Madison Square Park location June 9–13. Shack culinary director Mark Rosati has enlisted five superstar chefs to create limited-edition burgers ($8.50; $1 of that benefits the Madison Square Park Conservancy), each of which will be on sale for one day only. Here’s the mouthwatering calendar:
 
Monday, June 9: “Piggie Shack” by Daniel Boulud (Daniel, Café Boulud). Beef-blend patty topped with DBGB's BBQ pulled pork, jalepeño mayo, Boston lettuce and mustard-vinegar slaw.
 
Tuesday, June 10: Momofuku Shrimp Stack by David Chang (Momofuku). Shack beef-blend cheeseburger topped with a smoked and griddled shrimp patty, Momofuku Hozon sauce, Bibb lettuce, pickled onions and salted cucumbers.
 
Wednesday, June 11: AZ Cabrito Butter Burger by Andrew Zimmern (Andrew Zimmern’s Canteen, the Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods America). Goat burger with herb butter topped with roasted tomatoes, charred onions and sweet pickles.
 
Thursday, June 12: Humm Burger by Daniel Humm (Eleven Madison Park). Shack beef-blend Gruyère cheeseburger topped with all-natural applewood-smoked bacon, celery relish, Bibb lettuce, truffle mayo and shaved fresh black truffle.
 
Friday April 13: Breslin Burger by April Bloomfield (The Spotted Pig, The Breslin). Breslin beef-blend burger topped with all-natural applewood-smoked bacon and Tickler English cheddar sauce.
 
On Thursday, the Shack’s actual birthday, head to the park for an all-day blowout to try “Shake-cago” hot dogs, an epic cake made by Dominique Ansel—who teamed with Shake Shack last year to produce Cronut-hole concretes—and an exclusive Shack X IPA courtesy of Brooklyn Brewery. The festivities will also include live music by bands like the Tall Pines and Miniature Tigers and a Ping-Pong table. If we’ve learned anything from Shake Shack over the past 10 years, it’s that it knows how to attract the masses. So start making up an excuse now to skip work and get there early; the party starts at 1pm.
