Bayside, Queens, is getting its first-ever rooftop bar
Bell Boulevard's Bourbon Street is bringing outdoor drinking-and-dining to Bayside this summer

Talk about good timing—as warm-weather temperatures finally grace our fair city (peace out, polar vortex!), we hear that Bayside is finally getting its first-ever rooftop bar. Bell Boulevard's Bourbon Street, which has been dishing out gumbo and jambalaya to this busy Queens neighborhood for nearly 15 years, will open an alfresco dining area this summer.
Owner Mark Boccia announced that they aim to have a full-service bar, plus a barbecue pit, a raw seafood bar and a pizza oven, pending approval from the New York State Liquor Authority and the Buildings Department. To amp up the Bayou vibe, the 2,500-square-foot terrace will be lit with French Quarter–style lanterns. We know we'll be hopping on the LIRR for this one.
While you wait for Bourbon Street's rooftop to open, you can check out fellow elevated borough bars like the ten-floor lounge at Long Island City's Z Hotel or the candlelit garden terrace at the Ravel. For other options, see more high-flying boîtes with our roundup of NYC's best rooftop bars.
