What better way to celebrate warm weather—and by warm, we mean over 40 degrees—than with a free sundae? On Tuesday, April 15, Bubby’s High Line will be handing out scoops, sundaes and sodas on the house.
So what’s with the sweet freebies? The Meatpacking District café is celebrating the addition of a soda fountain to its takeout counter, that’s why. Customers will be able to fix up their ice cream however they please for as little as five bucks, with over a dozen different scoops, syrups and toppings, or select a ready-to-order concoction like the Elvis Banana Split (vanilla ice cream, peanut syrup, caramel bananas and chocolate cookie crumbles). Bubby’s is the real deal; not only does the spot make its own ice cream from scratch, but it also mixes homemade shakes, malts and sodas made with 15 from-scratch syrups (rasberry, ginger, etc.) for an extra old-timey vibe.
As you may have gathered from its name, Bubby’s is right down the road from the High Line, so once you grab your gratis cone, you can take a stroll along one of the coolest parks in NYC. And if spring has you hankering for more frozen treats, consult our guide to the best old-school sundaes in town.
