In another encouraging sign that spring might finally be here for real (and summer's not far away…albeit a humid, rainy summer, but still, summer!), the High Line's alfresco-eats season kicks off today! This is obviously good news for anyone who enjoys delicious food while gazing at an elevated view of New York (in other words, everyone). Back for a second season is SmokeLine, the food-stand outpost of Daniel Delaney's crazy-popular (and Food & Drink Award–winning) Texas barbecue, slinging picnic-friendly versions (read: sandwiches) of his brisket, pulled pork and smoked chicken.

Also on offer are the Taco Truck's al pastor, pollo asado and barbacoa de costilla tacos and tortas; Melt Bakery's ice-cream sandwiches; java from Blue Bottle Coffee; and icy treats from People's Pops, La Newyorkina and L'Arte del Gelato (all vendors are located at 15th Street, except for La Newyorkina, which will be at 17th Street).

And in case you were wondering where the booze is (and of course you're wondering where the booze is): Terroir at the Porch reopens May 2, so you can look forward to sipping a glass of wine or a craft beer while watching the sunset over the Hudson. Spring, we've never been so glad to see you. Can you please just stop being so goddamned cold now?
