Japan's most popular distilled spirit is the focus of this tasting weekend, spotlighting bottles from top shochu producers. On Saturday, Koi at the Trump SoHo will pour sips distilled from different ingredients (barley, rice and sweet potato), representing ten distilleries, including Kitaya, Takahashi, Satsuma and Sengetsu, and served alongside Asian bites. The following night, head to Apartment 13 for the SIP Japan Pavilion 2013 bash, where you’ll find passed hors d’oeuvres, as well as shochu-spiked cocktails.
