One of the most glittery spectacles in gay New York each year is the GLAAD Media Awards, where the A-list gays come out (!) to pay tribute to actors, journalists, publications and more that moved GLAAD's mainstream queer agenda forward in the last year. At this year's edition, cultural treasure George Takai received the top honor, the Vito Russo Award. (He thanked "young straight couples, because they are going to be making the gay babies of tomorrow.") Performers included gay-boosting country star Kacey Musgraves and pop icon Kylie Minogue. Other top winners at this year's #glaadawards included Rolling Stone magazine, Netflix series Orange Is the New Black and the film Philomena. A complete list of winners is below.
