Rick Miramontez, 44, president of theater public relations firm O&M Co. (oandmco.com); Financial District
His inspirations: "Hollywood and Broadway."
Favorite stores: "I'll go to Project No. 8 Men's (38 Orchard St at Hester St; 212-925-5599, projectno8.com) once a month and always walk away with some great accessory [such as] cufflinks, a tie, shoes and socks. Odin (199 Lafayette St between Broome and Kenmare Sts; 212-966-0026, odinnewyork.com) has great sunglasses and jackets. I have to give a shout out to the original Brooks Brothers (346 Madison Ave at 44th St, 212-682-8800, brooksbrothers.com), and if Warhol were alive, he'd do the same!"
His signature accessory: "On most days, I wear blue blazers and pocket squares."
His favorite local designer: "Tommy Hilfiger (tommyhilfiger.com): I love how he is influenced by movies, music and the theater. I still wear some of his shirts and ties from the '80s. Also, Steven Alan (stevenalan.com)—you can always feel sexy in one of [his] sweaters."
His New York fashion icon: William Ivey Long, the Tony Award--winning Broadway [costume designer] who is the king of the blue blazer, dresses the same impeccable way every day and looks equally ready to design a show or head to the beach. He's fancy without being fussy."
Favorite salon: "[I get the] simple buzz at Diamond Cuts Barber Shop (614 Eighth Ave at 40th St, third floor; 212-398-2272). A cool man named Otis Tyson gives me haircuts and shaves."
His favorite spa: "When I want to pretend I'm George Clooney or Cary Grant, I splurge on the Gentleman's Deluxe Ritual at the spa in the Carlyle Hotel (35 E 76th St at Madison Ave; 212-744-1600, rosewoodhotels.com). It's a three-plus-hour experience that includes a full-body scrub and massage. Then I get dressed and meet friends upstairs at Bemelmans Bar to finish off the day with a couple martinis and music. It's like being in my own personal movie for six hours."
How his style has evolved: "I've gotten more conservative since moving from Los Angeles to New York City. I used to only wear pale blue jumpsuits with a blazer, sometimes pajamas with a blazer—pre-Schnabel!—and lots of bright colors. I still wear blazers and bright colors, but I can now blend in with the Wall Street crowd—sort of."
How his career influences his style: "I think Broadway is the most glamorous thing about the most glamorous city in the world, so I try to add some glamour to my wardrobe, even if I'm just wearing shorts or jeans."
