    Time Out New York Kids / Issue 26 : Nov 19–Dec 31, 2007

    NYC Parents Awards

Usually, we’re the ones telling people where to go. Turns out you’re pretty good at it, too. Presenting the results of our annual readers’ poll—your family’s favorite spots to nosh, splurge, play and soak up city life. Drumroll, please…

Best kiddie hair salon: Lulu’s Cuts & Toys
Indulge future style mavens at this combination groovy salon and toy emporium—your favorite kiddie hair salon. Opened by tressmaster Brigitte Prat, who was tired of hauling her daughter Lulu across town to get her hair cut, the Park Slope spot makes haircutting fun with oodles of toys and video games and glamour-girl parties for kids ages five to nine, replete with glittery makeup, mini-manis, snacks and photos. So while we adults pay a heapload for a quickie with a stylist it took us three months to see, and will feel lucky if we get to read Us Weekly while we wait, our kids are living it up with toys and makeovers. 48 Fifth Ave between Bergen and Dean Sts, Park Slope, Brooklyn (718-832-3732, luluscuts.com).

    Runner up
    Cozy’s Cuts for Kids 1125 Madison Ave between 84th and 85th Sts (212-585-2699, cozyscutsforkids.com). Subway: 4, 5, 6 to 86th St.
