    Time Out New York Kids / Issue 26 : Nov 19–Dec 31, 2007

    NYC Parents Awards

Usually, we’re the ones telling people where to go. Turns out you’re pretty good at it, too. Presenting the results of our annual readers’ poll—your family’s favorite spots to nosh, splurge, play and soak up city life. Drumroll, please…

Best tourist attraction: Empire State Building
Tackling tourist central may not be your idea of fun, but this skyscraper still manages to dazzle even the littlest New Yorkers. From every angle the building is majestic, and on a clear day it offers awe-inspiring panoramic views that span 80 miles in all directions. Plus, if your relationship with the city is missing that spark, a trip to the Deco gem is a quick way to fall in love with NYC again. There’s a reason why all those people are waiting on line for ages to get in, and it isn’t to visit the dentist on the 51st floor. 350 Fifth Ave between 33rd and 34th Sts (212-736-3100, esbnyc.com).

    Runner up
    Top of the Rock 30 Rockefeller Plaza at 49th St (212-698-2000, topoftherocknyc.com). Subway: B, D, F, V to 47-50th Sts-Rockefeller Center.
