    Exhausted mom makeover

    One frazzled new mom gets her sanity back after some early intervention.

    Being a new mom is overwhelming no matter where you push your stroller, but parenting in New York presents a unique set of challenges. You’ve got a nursery the size of a walk-in closet, and work lunches that begin at 5pm, not to mention fears that your sleep training efforts might waken your upstairs neighbor. Thankfully, there are people here who earn their living helping strung-out city parents.

    I decided that before I went completely over the edge, I’d seek some help. I laid bare the three most harrowing aspects of my postpartum life—the things that drain the energy out of me faster than Nina, my five-month-old daughter, gulps down her milk—and enlisted local experts for guidance. Take what you can from my experience, or contact any of these pros yourself.
