Wildly inspired upon seeing Rambo: First Blood, two boys attempt to film their own action epic in 1980s England. If the sight of their silly homemade special effects doesn’t draw a few chuckles, the schoolkid impression of Sly Stallone is sure to. The movie is rated PG-13 for violent, reckless behavior, but don’t let that scare you away; the antics are playful and completely unrealistic. (Opens May 2.)

A year after leaving Narnia, the Pevensie kids are mysteriously transported back, only to find that the land they once ruled is in utter ruin. A tyrant has forced magical creatures into hiding and driven the kingdom to the brink of civil war, and it’s up to the four sibs to make it right. (Opens May 16.)
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

The whip-wielding archaeology prof is back on the big screen—this time to fight off the evil agent Irina Spalko (Blanchett). To be sure your kids are up to speed on Indy’s adventurous history before they head to the theater, grab the new DVD box set (available May 13) of remastered versions of all three previous Jones films. (Warning: The second installment, Temple of Doom, is more violent than the other two, so sensitive tots might want to sit that one out.) Bonus content includes interviews with director Spielberg and collaborator George Lucas, who drop hints about what to expect in Crystal Skull. (Opens May 22.)
