Buy It Right Shopping Game
Tester Roma, 7, West Village
Premise Roll the dice: The numbers signify the price you’ll pay for familiar items like ice cream and a guitar. The first player to buy two objects in each category wins. Along the way, practice arithmetic.
Learning curve Two failed attempts at playing, due to confusion about the rules, preceded a semi-success (Mom and Roma never really “got” the directions). Tip: Leave the included calculator in the box, and have your kids perform the addition and subtraction on their own.
Entertainment value A single game takes only ten minutes, so Roma stayed engaged from start to finish. But according to Mom, the experience wasn’t all that thrilling.
Sound bite Roma: “I would never pay $6 for a piece of pizza.”

I wish you could search by age level. I'm gonna be nannying a 3 year old and there are fewer things, so it takes awhile to even find something in his age range. Anything to help with that? Any tips?
