    All NYC museums offer free admission to their members, but which cultural spot gives your family the most for your money each year?

    Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art
    338 Lighthouse Ave between St. George and Edinboro Rds, Staten Island (718-351-3500, tibetanmuseum.org). Travel: From the Staten Island Ferry, take the S74 bus to Lighthouse Ave. Wed–Sun 1–5pm.

    General admission: $5, students and seniors $3, children under 6 free
    Membership: $40 for families of up to six members
    Benefits:
    • Unlimited free admission
    • 10 percent discount in the gift shop
    • Invitations to all events and lectures

    Japan Society
    333 E 47th St between First and Second Aves (212-832-1155, japansociety.org). Subway: 42nd St S, 4, 5, 6, 7 to 42nd St–Grand Central; E, V to Lexington Ave–53rd St. Tue–Thu 11am–6pm; Fri 11am–9pm; Sat, Sun 11am–5pm.

    General admission: $12, students and seniors $10, children under 16 free. Fri 6–9pm free.

    Family Membership: $200 (100% tax deductible) for two adults and up to four children under 18
    Large-Family Membership: $300 (100% tax deductible) for up to ten individuals

    Lower East Side Tenement Museum
    108 Orchard St at Delancey St (212-431-0233, tenement.org). Subway: F to Delancey St; J, M, Z to Delancey–Essex Sts. Mon 11am–5:30pm; Tue–Fri 11am–6pm; Sat, Sun 10:45am–6pm. The museum is accessible by guided tour only; same-day tickets are available at the visitor center. For advance tickets, call 866-811-4111.General admission (for a guided tour of two aparments ): $25, students and seniors $18
    Membership: $125 for five family members
    Benefits:

      I would like to see the museums come up with one package membership that allows families to save money getting into ALL museums, not just one. It's hard to live in the most culturally rich city in this country and not be able to take your children to museums because it's prohibitively expensive.
