    Time Out Kids Museum Membership Guide

    All NYC museums offer free admission to their members, but which cultural spot gives your family the most for your money each year?

    Metropolitan Museum of Art
    1000 Fifth Ave at 82nd St (212-535-7710, metmuseum.org). Subway: 4, 5, 6 to 86th St. Tue–Thu, Sun 9:30am–5:30pm; Fri, Sat 9:30am–9pm. No strollers on Sundays.

    Suggested admission: $20, seniors $15, students $10, children under 12 free.
    Membership: $190 ($160 is tax deductible) for two adults and two children under 17
    Benefits:
    • Unlimited free admission to the museum and the Cloisters, including all special exhibitions
    • Summer use of the Trustees Dining Room, overlooking Central Park, for Friday and Saturday dinner and weekend brunch
    • The opportunity to host a party in a private dining room (Terrace Room, Bass Room or Rose Room) during the summer

      I would like to see the museums come up with one package membership that allows families to save money getting into ALL museums, not just one. It's hard to live in the most culturally rich city in this country and not be able to take your children to museums because it's prohibitively expensive.
