The Great Chometz Hunt
Fri 18 5:30–8:30pm. 92nd Street Y, 1395 Lexington Ave at 92nd St (212-415-5573, 92y.org). Subway: 6 to 96th St. $30, children $18, under 3 free. During Passover, little ones hunt for matzo. On the eve of the celebration, however, kids traditionally search for chometz (leavened bread). During this candlelit scavenger hunt, they’ll follow clues to find the hidden chometz in nooks and corners of the 92nd Street Y. Along the way, they’ll hear the story of Passover and learn about the importance of chometz. The hunt ends with a Shabbat (and pre-Passover) dinner, which includes bread, pasta and cake. All ages.
