My younger son recently started walking, and I’m terrified of going to the playground alone with the two kids. What do I do when they run off in opposite directions?
This is undeniably one of the biggest challenges of having a second child, right up there with losing any semblance of the life you’d managed to hang on to after giving birth to your first. But while it’s essentially impossible to keep your older kid from hurling himself off the monkey bars while you simultaneously ensure that your toddler isn’t snacking on sand, confining your brood indoors on a perfect spring day is not the answer. My advice: Plan your next outing with a friend who has only one kid. Make sure it’s someone with whom you’ll feel comfortable momentarily ditching one son while you chase his brother. Of course, this strategy won’t always be an option, so when you have to go it alone, skip the bigger playgrounds in favor of the pokier ones. Whenever I have to fly solo, I head over to a nearby elementary school. My kids have to forgo a sandbox and sprinklers at the playground there, but I get to forgo heart palpitations.

I think most women prekid realize they are post kid hypocrits....I want a stokke and that is the same price without bassinet. Before I thought it was ridiculous to have a 1 year old bday party of more than mom and dad.....my son turns one in October....his party theme is Jungle Boogie
