Artist statement
Governors Island turns into "Punk Island" for June 21st, with 13 stages of punk bands and no volume limits! A ferry runs every 30 minutes from the Battery Maritime Building, next to the Staten Island Ferry terminal. Hear David Byrne's "Playing the Building" installation in the Battery Maritime Building, punk bands on the ferry itself, and throughout the island. Last ferry back to Manhattan leaves at 7pm.
