Many trailers tell you to "see it in IMAX," but be careful: Not all IMAX theaters are created equal. Instead of a phony converted screen, Lincoln Center is Manhattan's only legitimate option, featuring impeccable projection standards and a top-notch audio system. Not nearly as subversive or exhilaratingly rude as 2005’s Wedding Crashers (already a cringe-comedy classic), this similar romp takes the earlier movie’s best joke—Isla Fisher’s secretly wild party girl—and turns it into the main course. Brocifero...

While Finding Dory is definitely the kind of visual pleasure we’ve come to expect from Pixar, its storyline doesn’t always reach the heights of inventiveness upon which the gigantic animation studio has built its reputation. The film lacks the psy...

Sophie, a little orphan girl, is snatched from her bed late at night by a big-hearted, vegetarian giant and is whisked off to an unwelcoming land of oversize cannibals in Roald Dahl’s much-cherished 1982 children’s story The BFG. For this movie ve...

Too much ambition can be a dangerous thing. The previous Star Trek movie, 2013’s sprawling Into Darkness, was packed with it: new worlds, violent consequences and hefty emotional moments. A little unfairly, it was voted the worst Trek movie ever b...

Joanna Lumley is the best thing about this funny (but disappointingly not hilarious) Ab Fab comeback. So thank the fashion gods for the injections of Botox and the truckloads of Stoli-Bolly cocktails keeping Patsy permanently pickled: She’s so wel...

The all-female reboot of Ghostbusters is here—jacked up, subversive and often very funny—and before any fanboys make the leap from vicious trailer criticism to the movie itself, let’s get real about the 1984 original: It’s breezy, it’s blessed wit...

David F. Sandberg’s half-clever horror debut is based on a 2013 short of the same name—you can check it out on YouTube if you’d like a taste. But before you do, brace yourself for two things: First, make sure you have a high-wattage lamp handy. (Y...

Absolutely love having a real IMAX theater in the neighborhood - just went here to see the new Star Wars, purchased tickets online the day before and got to choose our seats. I love going into a movie with a solid gameplan instead of having to arrive super early and scramble for seats then sit through 30min of previews...here, we get to show up just in time to enjoy the flick without having to deal with anyone asking us if we can "move down" to accommodate someone.
