Even comics who are regulars at the city’s other stand-up rooms have to work extra hard to get stage time at this venerable institution. Carolines is the best place to see marquee names, including sitcom-ready stars, familiar faces from the ’80s comedy boom, Friars Club–style spritzers and cable-special ravers. You’ll never see anything less than professional. Show times vary.

Definitely the best and most approachable comedy venue in the city. Seating is comfortable and open, and the food is actually pretty good! The talent they get speaks for itself.
I don't think it's been updated since Bill Hicks last performance of his career back in '94...
As a visitor to NYC, I just didn't get how it can claim to be 'America's Premiere Comedy Nightclub'
I know Comedy Clubs are dark and dingy, but this place needs a re-fresh.
You might say, it's to see the talent, but on a Saturday and after the show, a group of over 10 of us all felt we hadn't had a 'great night' and it just wasn't 'that' good.
It's hard to pin point what's wrong without actually going... and that's the problem, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Went on a Saturday Night.
Went to the Time Out Comedy Showcase and was laughing nonstop. They had a great lineup with many comedians from Comedy Central. A great evening and event
