Alejandro Escovedo
Late-blooming roots-rock auteur Alejandro Escovedo, who spent the ’70s and ’80s playing punk and hard-edged country-rock with the Nuns, Rank & File and True Believers, is making some of the darkest, most personally charged music of his career. At this annual NYC stint, the Austin songsmith and band look back at his first three solo albums on different nights: Hear his gutted debut Gravity on Thu 22, the sweetly downcast Thirteen Years on Fri 23, followed by Escovedo's third album, and major-label debut, With These Hands, on Sat 24.
