Leeds-based quartet Alt-J traffics in a distinct sound, combining clever songwriting and colorful jazz-influenced instrumentation with world beats and skittering drops for a wholly quirky and addictive brand of alt pop. The band's debut, An Awesome Wave, gets its U.S. release later this month.
